The Saudi-led coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen announced the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile fired by the Houthi terrorist militia toward Riyadh.
This was stated in a brief statement released by coalition spokesperson Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki on the X platform.
Earlier, Saudi Civil Defense in Riyadh issued a warning urging adherence to safety guidelines and compliance with instructions from official authorities, as part of precautionary measures to address the potential threat.
The instructions emphasized the need to remain calm and immediately proceed to the nearest safe location inside a building or an interior room away from windows, staying there until the danger passes, without leaving the home or building during the warning period.
It also advised staying away from open areas, glass, balconies, and rooftops, and moving to the nearest building or taking cover behind a solid barrier if outdoors, while avoiding crowds, refraining from filming, and steering clear of hazardous sites.
The guidelines recommended that drivers pull over to the side of the road away from bridges and tall buildings upon receiving the warning message, and stressed the importance of reporting any threats via the number 911 in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Madinah Al-Munawwarah, Riyadh, and Eastern Province regions, and via 998 in other parts of the Kingdom.
Saudi Civil Defense reaffirmed the necessity of following instructions and directives issued by competent authorities through official channels until the situation concludes and the threat subsides.
