The Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen announced the interception and destruction of further brazen attacks carried out by the culpable Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which announced the extension of the closure of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

The official spokesperson for the Coalition forces, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that threats involving drones and cruise missiles targeting the Kingdom were detected and monitored, and appropriate measures were taken. This follows the earlier announcement of the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile launched by the terrorist Houthi militia toward Khamis Mushait, and a drone in the Eastern Region, in the early hours of yesterday.

For its part, the General Authority of Civil Aviation announced the extension of the suspension of operational operations at King Khalid International Airport to complete necessary procedures to verify the safety and operational readiness of the airport facilities, in coordination with relevant authorities. The Authority had previously announced the death of a Pakistani resident and injuries to 11 people as a result of the attack that targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh the day before yesterday. The Authority added that the attack also caused material damage to the airport, noting that efforts to assess and evaluate these damages are ongoing.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Riyadh Region, visited several civilian victims injured in the terrorist Houthi militia’s attack on King Khalid Airport, who are receiving treatment in various hospitals in Riyadh. He conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and from His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, along with their wishes for their swift recovery, emphasizing the directives of the wise leadership to provide comprehensive healthcare to all the injured.

He listened to briefings on their medical conditions and the medical services provided to them, directing that their conditions be monitored and their treatment needs met until they fully recover, God willing. In a statement reported by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Emir of the Riyadh Region praised the leadership’s efforts to safeguard the Kingdom’s security and stability, highlighting the cohesion of the nation’s people and their united front, as well as the readiness of the brave Saudi military personnel to confront any threats to the country’s security and safety.

In a related development, Gulf Air announced the cancellation of its flights to and from Riyadh until next Saturday. The airline stated in a press release: “Gulf Air wishes to inform passengers of the cancellation of its flights to and from Riyadh from October 12 to 17.”

For its part, Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways canceled all its flights to and from Riyadh until next Monday due to “regional disruptions,” according to its website. The company also indicated the cancellation of all flights between Abu Dhabi and Dammam today and tomorrow, as well as the cancellation of several flights between Abu Dhabi and Jeddah until Thursday.
