The municipality confirmed yesterday that safeguarding state property is a shared social responsibility and is not limited to temporary campaigns to remove encroachments, but will be addressed on an ongoing basis.

Mohammed Al-Jalawi, a member of the central team at the Office of the Municipality Director General, stated in a press comment on the sidelines of a supervisory tour in Hawalli Governorate that the municipality’s campaign “Kuwait is More Beautiful Without Encroachments,” launched last June, plays a key role in ensuring everyone’s safety. Al-Jalawi explained that the supervisory team removed an unlicensed structure (a diwaniya) erected near the sidewalk and utilities after the legally mandated period had expired, despite issuing a warning to the violator, who failed to comply.

On the other hand, he praised the cooperation of many property owners who had committed violations, commending their prompt response and voluntary removal of their infractions, and urged other violators to rectify their violations before supervisory teams reach them. Al-Jalawi also commended the significant role played by government entities and their participation in the campaign since its inception, namely the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the Ministry of Interior, and the Public Authority for Environmental Affairs.

He stated that the municipality encourages citizens and residents to follow its official social media accounts to benefit from awareness messages and guidelines published regularly, and to contact the municipality to inquire about any regulatory requirements, thereby facilitating their procedures and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
