Osama Diab, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of the Republic of Guinea in the State of Kuwait, Mamadou Aliou Sow, called on the Kuwaiti government, the private sector, investment institutions, and development funds to explore promising investment opportunities in his country, emphasizing Guinea’s aspiration to build a broader economic partnership with Kuwait based on mutual benefit and supporting sustainable development pathways.
In a statement to journalists on the sidelines of the Embassy of the Republic of Guinea in Kuwait’s celebration of the 68th anniversary of its independence, Sow praised the role played by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development in supporting development projects in Guinea, particularly in the sectors of roads, infrastructure, education, health, and rural development. He stressed that these contributions reflect the depth of bilateral relations founded on solidarity and cooperation.
He clarified that Guinea is rich in diverse investment opportunities in mining, including bauxite, gold, and iron, as well as in agriculture, energy, manufacturing, infrastructure, and tourism, expressing his country’s hope to attract more Kuwaiti investments to capitalize on these opportunities and strengthen economic ties between the two nations.
He noted that Guinea’s National Strategic Plan for Economic and Social Transformation (2025–2040), Simandou, stands out as one of Guinea’s most prominent strategic projects, given its development of iron ore mines, railway networks, ports, and related infrastructure, thereby enhancing the exploitation of natural resources and supporting industrial and economic activity.
He added that Simandou “Simandou 2040” represents a long-term national vision that extends beyond the mining sector to encompass manufacturing, agriculture, education, health, transport, and energy, aiming to transform natural wealth into added value, create jobs, and improve citizens’ living standards.
He underscored the importance of enhancing Kuwaiti investors’ participation in Guinean development projects, laying the foundation for a strategic partnership that serves mutual interests and supports sustainable development, in line with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
In conclusion, he expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the State of Kuwait, its leadership, government, and people, commending the fraternal relations between the two countries. He extended his thanks to officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and members of the diplomatic corps who participated in the celebration. He also praised the role of the Guinean community in Kuwait in strengthening human and cultural ties between the two countries, reflecting the robustness of the relations between the two friendly peoples.
