Kuwait Municipality confirmed on Monday that safeguarding state property is a shared social responsibility, extending beyond temporary campaigns to remove encroachments, and will be addressed on an ongoing basis.

Mohammed Al-Jalawi, a member of the central team at the Municipality Director General’s Office, emphasized in a media statement during an inspection tour in Hawalli Governorate that the municipality’s campaign, “Kuwait is More Beautiful Without Encroachments,” launched last June, plays a key role in ensuring public safety.

Al-Jalawi noted that the inspection team removed an unlicensed structure (a diwaniya) erected near the sidewalk and utilities after the legally mandated period had expired, despite issuing a warning to the violator, who failed to comply.

He commended the cooperation of many property owners who had committed violations, highlighting their prompt voluntary removal of their infractions, and urged other violators to rectify their violations before inspection teams reach them.

Al-Jalawi praised the significant role played by government entities and their participation in the campaign since its inception, including the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the Ministry of Interior, and the Public Authority for Environmental Affairs.

He stated that the municipality encourages citizens and residents to follow its official social media accounts to benefit from awareness messages and guidelines published regularly, and to contact the municipality to inquire about any regulatory requirements, thereby facilitating their procedures and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
