Saudi Arabia and Bahrain: Mobilizing International Support for a Firm Stance Against Houthi Terrorist Attacks on Saudi Arabia

Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani held talks with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, on Monday, discussing the latest regional developments and the repercussions of the heinous attacks launched by the terrorist Houthis militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including their treacherous targeting of civilian infrastructure and airports.
In a statement, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Minister Al Zayani expressed Bahrain’s sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy for the victims of the heinous terrorist attack that targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, and conveyed his wishes for the swift recovery of the injured.
He reaffirmed Bahrain’s strong condemnation of the attack and its full solidarity with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as its support for all measures the Kingdom takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability.
The statement noted that the discussions emphasized that these terrorist attacks constitute a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty, international law, and international humanitarian law, and pose a serious threat to the security of international civil aviation and passenger safety.
The two sides also exchanged views on enhancing cooperation, coordination, and joint consultation regarding the Gulf diplomatic initiative at the United Nations Security Council, in light of Bahrain’s non-permanent membership on the Council, as well as mobilizing international support to adopt a firm stance against the Houthis’ terrorist attacks on Saudi Arabia, which have resulted in loss of life and property and pose a threat to regional security and stability.
