The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that the meeting, held the day before yesterday at the People’s Palace in Damascus, discussed opportunities to develop Syria’s technology sector, leverage Syrian expertise and competencies in artificial intelligence and digital transformation, support innovation and entrepreneurship, and expand cooperation with global technology companies and institutions.

In a related development, a memorandum of understanding was signed yesterday to launch the Innovation and Technology City project in the Homs Industrial City in the Homs Governorate, with the aim of developing an integrated investment environment that supports technological industries and digital transformation, attracts investments, and creates high-quality job opportunities, under the supervision of the Ministry of Economy and Industry.

According to SANA, the project aims to create an integrated city combining industrial, residential, and service zones on a total area of approximately 15.4 million square meters, providing a suitable environment for the growth of technology companies and projects and enhancing opportunities for innovation and production.
