Kuwait officials: The Al-Kazma first football team delegation departed today by road for the Saudi city of Dammam in preparation for their match against Al-Ittihad in the first round of the Gulf Club Champions League, which will take place on Wednesday in Group 3, also comprising the UAE’s Ajman and Iraq’s Erbil.

The tournament features three groups played in a single-leg league format, with the top two teams from each group and the two best third-placed teams across all three groups advancing to the quarter-finals. The knockout stage will then follow.

The “Orange” side is working to have key players Shubayb Al-Khalidi and Nasser Falih fit for selection. Shubayb was forced off during Al-Arabi’s match in the fourth round of the Zain Premier League after suffering a muscle strain, while Falih is dealing with a thigh injury and is currently undergoing a rehabilitation program in an effort to be ready for the upcoming game.

Additionally, striker Bandar Bursali will be unavailable due to work commitments, and player Khaled Shoman is absent following the death of his brother.

Al-Kazma boasts a squad of standout and professional players this season, capable of delivering positive results and reaching advanced stages in both Gulf and domestic competitions.
