Al-Fahaheel defeated Al-Sahel 4-0 at Al-Shabab Club Stadium yesterday in the fourth round of the Zen Premier League.
Al-Fahaheel, known as the “Red Ten,” moved to six points and climbed to sixth place, while Al-Sahel, referred to as the “Sons of Abu Halifa,” remained on four points.
Both sides attempted to impose their dominance in the first half through cautious attacking play and by avoiding leaving spaces open. Al-Sahel had the better chance when Jaber Al-Fadli fired a long-range shot, but Al-Fahaheel goalkeeper Ali Fadel made a save (30th minute).
Al-Fahaheel took the lead just before halftime when Brazilian forward Vitor da Silva brilliantly finished a cross from his compatriot Carlos Breno (45th minute), ending the first half with a 1-0 advantage.
The second half saw few clear scoring opportunities for a long period. Al-Fahaheel doubled their lead when Hammam Mahmoud capitalized on a mistake by Al-Sahel player Nasser Al-Qahtani (67th minute).
Al-Fahaheel added two more goals. Substitute Hamad Al-Taweel scored the third after a pass from Hammam Mahmoud (84th minute), before Hammam Mahmoud completed his brace by scoring the fourth goal on the counterattack from a cross by Mohammed Naim (86th minute).
Referee Hassan Al-Haddad managed the match with authority, thanks to his sound decisions and close proximity to the action.
