Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, and Turkey condemn Houthi attacks on the Kingdom: A blatant violation of international law
The Quartet Group (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, and Turkey) condemned in a joint statement the ongoing attacks by the Houthi militia on Saudi Arabia, deeming them a serious escalation. The statement, published by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the X platform, said that the Quartet Group strongly condemns the continuous hostile attacks launched by the Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the heinous attacks that targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, resulting in the death and injury of several civilians, as well as damage to infrastructure and civilian facilities. The four countries considered the attacks, according to the statement, “a blatant violation of international law.” The statement said that these attacks constitute a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a direct threat to its security, stability, and the safety of civilians, representing a serious escalation that cannot be justified or accepted under any pretext. The Quartet Group affirmed its full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures and steps taken to confront these attacks, deter sources of threat, and prevent their recurrence, in defense of the Kingdom’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and to protect the safety of its citizens and residents, in accordance with the UN Charter and international law. The Quartet Group placed full responsibility for these attacks and their repercussions, which threaten regional and international peace and security, on the Houthi militia, and called for an immediate and unconditional halt to these attacks.
