Yemeni government forces announced their continued ground advances on the western coastal fronts, thwarting Houthi militia plans. They confirmed repelling a Houthi attack north of Bab al-Mandab airport in Taiz Governorate, inflicting casualties on the militias, and foiling infiltration attempts on the western coastal fronts, according to Al Jazeera.
The Yemeni Armed Forces Media Center broadcast aerial footage, sourced from the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen, showing the armed forces clearing the Bab al-Mandab area and Houthi militia members fleeing by sea. Other footage showed coalition air strikes targeting Houthi militia elements attempting to hide under the pressure of Yemeni armed forces’ fire at Bab al-Mandab.
For his part, Abdulrahman Al-Mahrami, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and commander of the Southern Giants Brigades, affirmed that the armed forces have shattered the illusions of the Houthi militias and that their stance will continue to bear witness to supporting the oppressed and confronting the Iranian project. Saba News Agency quoted Al-Mahrami as saying that “the battle to restore the state and liberate the country from the abomination of this rebellious group, and to protect the region’s security, requires the steadfastness of heroes and the firmness of the honorable, and you are up to it.”
Al-Mahrami expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stating, “We are fighting a single battle together, sharing sacrifices in the same trench, to create a shared destiny and a single unbreakable goal.”
In a related development, the tribes of Al-Haymatan, Bani Matar, and Haraz in Sanaa Governorate announced a national mobilization and general call-up today during an armed tribal gathering to support the armed forces, popular resistance, and security agencies, and to back them in the comprehensive national battle “Fajr al-Yemen” (Yemen’s Dawn). This campaign was launched by Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to restore state institutions and liberate areas under the control of the Iranian-backed Houthi militias, in response to his call for general mobilization and national call-up.
In a statement carried by the official Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the tribes affirmed their support for the state, its institutions, and the armed forces. They called on Yemeni tribal members in liberated governorates to declare a national mobilization and general call-up, and to support the fronts with funds, personnel, and weapons, while strengthening national alignment behind the political leadership, represented by the Presidential Leadership Council.
The statement also urged residents in areas controlled by the Houthi militias to protect their sons and lives, and not to be deceived by the mobilization and recruitment campaigns carried out by the militias, which send conscripts into their senseless battles to serve Iran’s agenda in the region and harm Yemeni interests.
