Deputy Minister of 'Affairs': Investigation into allegations of child abuse at a kindergarten underway, legal measures taken

Tareq Araabi: Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Faisal Al-Kandari, has taken the necessary measures, under the directives of Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaili, regarding a video circulating on social media platforms that shows an apparent case of child abuse inside one of the nurseries. Al-Kandari clarified that the relevant administration has been directed to summon the child’s guardian and the nursery manager to investigate the circumstances of the incident, along with taking the necessary legal actions. Al-Kandari emphasized that the minister’s directives are clear and firm regarding the protection of children and ensuring their safety, with no tolerance for any violations that compromise their security and well-being, affirming that legal measures will be taken against anyone proven responsible. Regarding surveillance cameras, Al-Kandari noted that all nurseries are required to install surveillance cameras in accordance with the circular issued on this matter, thereby enhancing oversight and safeguarding children’s safety.
