The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations, arrested suspects in two separate cases involving drug trafficking, operating unlicensed activities, and possessing subsidized food supplies.
In the first case, the Al-Farwaniya Criminal Investigations Department arrested a Sri Lankan national working as a domestic driver, after it was established that he was trafficking drugs in the Al-Aridiya area, exploiting his job to distribute them and evade suspicion. Authorities found approximately 470 grams of “Shabu,” a quantity of marijuana, a sensitive scale, and cash in his possession and room, in addition to money transfers totaling 6,573 Kuwaiti Dinars to Sri Lanka. He confessed to trafficking the seized substances in collaboration with an individual outside the country.
In the second case, the Al-Ahmadi Criminal Investigations Department arrested a Bangladeshi national working at a gas station for exchanging and converting currencies for travelers without a license, selling cigarettes, printing documents, and possessing subsidized food supplies. Authorities also found in his possession various currencies amounting to 1,067 Kuwaiti Dinars, 5,021 Saudi Riyals, 10 Qatari Riyals, and 8 Bahraini Dinars.
The Ministry of the Interior confirmed that the suspects and seized items have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal actions against them.
