Trump announces deal with Putin to pump millions of tons of diesel into global markets

US President Donald Trump said in a post on the “Truth Social” platform that he had concluded a “very productive discussion” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, during which it was agreed to supply the US and global markets with more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel immediately, an additional 500,000 tons in November, and another million tons shortly thereafter. Trump added that Russia would also deliver approximately 3 million tons of diesel fuel in the near future, depending on the status of its refineries. He stressed that these supplies, along with “full control of the Strait of Hormuz,” would contribute to rapidly and significantly lowering diesel prices for Americans and global markets. Trump noted that reducing fuel prices is a top priority for his administration, particularly for farmers, livestock producers, and truck drivers, describing the announcement as “of utmost importance.” He also reaffirmed that Iran “will not possess a nuclear weapon.”
