The State of Qatar strongly condemned the terrorist attacks by the Houthi group on King Khalid International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which targeted airport facilities and a Saudia aircraft, resulting in martyrs, casualties, and material damage. Qatar deemed these attacks a serious violation of Saudi sovereignty and a direct threat to the security of the region, as well as to the safety of civilians, civilian objects, and air navigation.
In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s full solidarity with the Kingdom and its steadfast support for all legitimate measures undertaken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and interests. It emphasized that Saudi security is an integral part of Qatar’s security and of the collective security framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
