The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and deep outrage at the two terrorist attacks carried out by Houthi militias, which targeted facilities at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and a Saudi Arabian Airlines aircraft, resulting in the martyrdom of three Saudi citizens and injuring several citizens and residents. Bahrain considered these heinous attacks a blatant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter, as well as a serious escalation that threatens regional security and stability and the safety of civil aviation, in accordance with the Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation.
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its complete support for all measures taken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, stability, territorial integrity, and the protection of its citizens and residents, as well as its right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. It also conveyed sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to the families and relatives of the martyrs, praying to God Almighty to have mercy on them and wishing the injured a swift recovery.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed Bahrain’s call for the UN Security Council to take a firm stance to halt the repeated Houthi terrorist attacks on civilian targets, facilities, and airports, to hold the perpetrators accountable, and to ensure full implementation of relevant Security Council resolutions, notably Resolutions 2216 and 2817, thereby guaranteeing the protection of civilians and the preservation of regional and international peace and security.
