Kuwait and Cyprus Discuss Available Investment Opportunities and Potential for Partnerships and Joint Projects

Our ambassador to Cyprus, Abdullah Al-Turki, held talks with Cypriot Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Michalis Damianos on ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade, investment, and energy. Ambassador Al-Turki said in a statement to KUNA via telephone following the meeting that the discussions focused on encouraging communication between the relevant authorities and businessmen in both countries to explore available investment opportunities and examine the potential for establishing partnerships and joint projects that would boost bilateral trade. He added that he emphasized during the meeting the expertise and capabilities that Kuwait possesses in the oil and gas sectors, as well as the importance of exploring areas of cooperation and exchanging expertise between the relevant authorities in both countries. He noted that the Cypriot minister outlined developments in natural gas projects in his country, existing cooperation with brotherly Egypt in this field, as well as energy infrastructure projects and power interconnection initiatives, along with related investment opportunities. Ambassador Al-Turki said the meeting also addressed Cyprus’s role in supporting relations between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, based on the distinguished ties linking Cyprus with GCC member states.
