Michael Jackson's Belongings to Be Auctioned in Special Event in Abu Dhabi

The UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, is preparing to host a rare collection of memorabilia from the late pop legend Michael Jackson, including his original jacket from the “Thriller” music video and his famous sequined glove worn during his historic “moonwalk” performance in 1983.

Julian’s, the American auction house, announced it would offer more than 100 items of Jackson’s clothing and accessories at a cultural event hosted by the Rosewood hotel on Al Maryah Island from December 7 to 9, 2026.

The highlight of the exhibition is the original red and black leather “Thriller” jacket, previously sold in 2011 for approximately $1.8 million, along with the shoes he wore in the video, now estimated at between $30,000 and $50,000.

The sequined glove worn at the “Motown 25” performance is valued between $600,000 and $800,000, according to the auction house’s latest announcement.

The auctions coincide with Abu Dhabi’s preparations to open the Guggenheim Museum on December 11, amid growing interest in acquiring items linked to the history of music, cinema, and fashion.
