The Houthi terrorist militia has expanded its treacherous attacks on Saudi civilian targets and infrastructure, extending from educational and medical facilities to civil airports, resulting in further casualties and material damage.
The official spokesperson for the coalition forces, the “Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen,” Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, announced: “We intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi terrorist militia toward Riyadh.”
Following this, the official spokesperson for the Saudi Civil Defense stated that the Civil Defense in Riyadh responded to “the fall of ballistic missile fragments after their interception and destruction, which were launched by the Houthi terrorist militia, resulting in material damage to a kindergarten and a medical clinic complex.” He clarified that standard procedures for such incidents were implemented.
This came after the General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that Abha and King Khalid International airports were attacked on Tuesday and Wednesday of last week, targeting their facilities. Emergency teams and relevant authorities immediately responded to the attacks in accordance with established procedures and plans.
The Authority stated that the brazen attack on Abha International Airport resulted in the deaths of two residents, one Moroccan and one Algerian, and injured 28 individuals, including two Bangladeshis and two Filipinos, with injuries ranging from minor to severe. The attack on King Khalid International Airport resulted in the death of one Sudanese resident and eight injuries, including five Saudi nationals, two Egyptian residents, and one Pakistani resident, with injuries ranging from minor to severe.
All the injured were immediately transported to hospitals to receive necessary medical care, and the attacks also caused some material damage. The Authority indicated that it is working, in coordination and continuous integration with relevant security authorities, to assess the damage and take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of passengers and staff, and to preserve the security and integrity of the civil aviation system in the Kingdom.
King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh yesterday urged travelers to communicate directly with airlines and verify flight status before heading to the airport.
In response to the attacks, the coalition spokesperson vowed that the brutal attacks by the Houthi terrorist militia on civilians and civilian infrastructure, particularly the targeting of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport, “will not go unpunished.”
General Al-Maliki said: “Accordingly, the coalition’s joint forces carried out a comprehensive strike that destroyed a total of 82 legitimate military targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist militia in the provinces of Saada, Hodeidah, Al-Jawf, and Marib. The targeted objectives included ballistic missile threat sources, comprising 11 ballistic missile storage sites in mountainous areas in Saada, as well as command and control centers, communication systems, missile and weapons depots, and headquarters of Houthi terrorist groups.”
The spokesperson also stated that the ballistic missile launch platform used in the attack on Riyadh two days ago was destroyed, and that the destruction took place in Sana’a during preparations for an imminent attack against the Kingdom.
