A delegation from the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha), led by Dr. Rana Al-Faris, reviewed Saudi Arabia’s “I’timad” platform and its role in enhancing the transparency of government competitions, improving expenditure efficiency, and facilitating financial transactions. This came during the delegation’s visit to the National Center for Government Resources Systems in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to examine the initiative and study its foundational elements.
Dr. Al-Faris emphasized in a statement that closing avenues for corruption requires developing the systems through which decisions are made and public funds are disbursed, stressing the importance of clear disbursement and contracting procedures, ensuring fair competition, and strengthening oversight and accountability capabilities.
For his part, Dr. Majad Al-Daihani, Vice Chairman of the Authority’s Board of Directors, clarified that procedural clarity and data integration support oversight and help in monitoring risks. He underscored the importance of studying the initiative’s foundational elements and evaluating what can be leveraged in the State of Kuwait, in coordination with relevant authorities.
The “I’timad” platform aims to standardize procedures, accelerate financial transactions, and enhance transparency and government expenditure efficiency, while also promoting local content and expanding the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises.
