Bahrain's Crown Prince: Enhancing Gulf Cooperation and Expanding Joint Work Areas

Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, is committed to supporting various efforts and initiatives aimed at consolidating partnership and enhancing cooperation among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, and expanding the scope of joint work to bring prosperity and development to the Gulf countries and fulfill the aspirations of their peoples.

The Bahrain News Agency reported that these remarks were made during a meeting at the Qasr Al-Qutaybi Palace between the Bahraini Crown Prince and the heads of delegations participating in the 22nd meeting of the Committee of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service Authorities, the 12th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Labor, and the 12th meeting of the Committee of Ministers of Social Affairs and Development of the GCC member states, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain, along with GCC Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi.

The delegation heads conveyed greetings from the leaders of the GCC member states to the King of Bahrain and to the Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister. In turn, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad conveyed the greetings of the King of Bahrain and his own greetings to the GCC leaders, emphasizing the role of such meetings in strengthening cooperation and integration pathways within the Gulf, and in formulating additional joint initiatives and programs that bring prosperity and development to GCC countries and their peoples.

He noted that the continuous progress witnessed in the trajectory of joint Gulf work, along with the gains and achievements realized across various fields, reflect the strength of the bonds uniting the GCC member states. He underscored the importance of leveraging these successes to open new horizons for cooperation and coordination, translating the visions and aspirations of the GCC leaders into further accomplishments that advance the path of development and prosperity.

He highlighted the commitment to continuing the development of joint Gulf cooperation and coordination in the fields of labor, social development, and civil service, building on the achievements already made to enhance the efficiency of work systems and support the realization of shared developmental priorities and objectives.

He emphasized the importance of continuing to exchange expertise, successful experiences, and leading practices among the GCC member states across various fields, particularly in labor, social development, and civil service, and to leverage these to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of programs and initiatives, thereby achieving the desired objectives. He also reaffirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to continuing its efforts to develop its labor market, civil service, and social development systems, in a manner that contributes to creating more high-quality opportunities for the citizens of the GCC states and supports sustainable development pathways in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

On their part, the heads of delegations participating in the meetings expressed their sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to the Bahraini Crown Prince, praising his continued interest and commitment to strengthening the trajectory of joint Gulf cooperation and advancing various avenues of collaboration toward broader horizons that meet the aspirations of the GCC states. They wished the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people continued progress, prosperity, and flourishing.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shuraidah Al-Muwasharji participated in Manama in the 22nd meeting of the Committee of Ministers and Heads of Civil Service Agencies of the GCC states. The meeting, chaired by the head of Bahrain’s Civil Service Authority, was attended by ministers and heads of civil service agencies from the GCC states, during which several topics and issues related to the development of government work and civil service, as well as the enhancement of Gulf cooperation and integration in administrative and developmental fields, were discussed.

The convening of the meeting comes within the framework of supporting joint Gulf cooperation, exchanging expertise and experiences, and developing the government work system, thereby contributing to improving performance efficiency and fulfilling the aspirations of the GCC states and their peoples.
