Khaled Al-Ajmi meets leaders and staff of 'Social Affairs': Serving the nation is a responsibility that transcends positions

Tareq Arabi: Former Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, Dr. Khalid Al-Ajmi, visited the ministry building yesterday morning to meet with employees and staff across its various sectors following the submission of his resignation. The meeting conveyed messages of appreciation and gratitude to the team, reaffirming that serving Kuwait remains the highest goal, transcending the boundaries of positions and roles.

During the meeting, Al-Ajmi expressed his pride in the period he spent at the Ministry of Social Affairs, emphasizing that what was achieved was not the result of individual effort, but rather the fruit of collective work involving the ministry’s employees, leadership, and cadres in all their capacities. He stressed that the team he worked with throughout his tenure was a source of respect and pride, and that he was honored to work with every individual within it.

He noted that positions, no matter how prestigious, are temporary, while the impact a person leaves through their work and service to their country and community is the true value that endures after leaving office. He pointed out that success is not attributed to a single individual, but is built through the accumulated efforts, cooperation, and ability of dedicated individuals to continue working with a spirit of teamwork.

Al-Ajmi affirmed that Kuwait is and will always be greater than any position, more enduring than any role, and deserving of every effort, time, and contribution. He clarified that public responsibility is not a privilege tied to a position, but a trust that requires anyone assuming responsibility to place the public interest above all other considerations.

He explained that his decision to resign came at a time when he believed the public interest was paramount, and that responsibility sometimes requires stepping forward and at other times making way for others, based on a firm conviction that state institutions continue through their sons and talents, and that national work does not stop with any individual or position.

He noted that leaving a position does not mean abandoning responsibility, affirming that anyone who has served at the Ministry of Social Affairs will remain part of its journey. He described the upcoming phase as a continuation of the efforts already achieved, and expressed confidence that the ministry’s staff are capable of continuing their work, building, and achieving more accomplishments to serve Kuwait and its people.

“I am leaving the position, but I am not leaving the place where I learned so much, nor am I forgetting those who shared responsibility and work with me. I am honored by everyone I worked with, and I hold all of them in the highest respect and admiration. I am confident they will continue to fulfill their mission with utmost integrity and competence.”

Al-Ajmi highlighted that working at the Ministry of Social Affairs is linked to a humanitarian mission before it is an administrative responsibility, as it is one of the institutions that directly touches people’s lives and needs. He emphasized that serving humanity, caring for deserving categories, and supporting social and humanitarian work are responsibilities that deserve to be carried out by everyone with the highest degree of dedication.

He concluded his meeting by extending thanks and appreciation to all ministry employees, affirming that every ending phase leaves behind an experience, and every experience leaves an impact. He stated that the most beautiful thing a person can leave behind is a good legacy, beneficial work, and memories cherished by hearts. He expressed confidence that the ministry’s journey would continue through the efforts of its sons, and that the future would be a continuation of the efforts of all who worked there and contributed to serving Kuwait.

He affirmed that Kuwait would always remain the compass and the goal, and that serving the country is not tied to an office, a chair, or a job title, but to a firm conviction that true contribution continues as long as the goal is Kuwait and its people. He prayed to Almighty God to protect His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, to perpetuate upon Kuwait the blessings of security, stability, and prosperity, to protect its people and perpetuate their unity and dignity, and to always guide its sons toward what benefits the country and elevates its status, and to keep Kuwait, leadership and people,

In security, safety, prosperity, and flourishing.
