Prime Minister: Accelerate Achievements to Meet International Standards on Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing

His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, chaired a meeting today on the observations and requirements of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
The meeting reviewed the latest developments regarding the addressing of FATF observations and the follow-up on the implementation of related requirements, alongside discussing mechanisms to harmonize national efforts and accelerate progress within the specified timeframes, reflecting the State of Kuwait’s commitment to meeting international standards and enhancing the efficiency of its anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing framework.
Attendees included the Minister of Justice and Advisor Nasser Youssef Al-Samit, the Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Subaih Al-Makhzoomi, the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment and Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq, the Minister of Finance Dr. Yaqoub Al-Rafai, the Advisor to the Prime Minister’s Diwan Sheikh Dr. Basil Al-Sabah, the Director General of the Direct Investment Promotion Authority Sheikh Dr. Meshal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait Basil Al-Haroun, and several representatives from relevant authorities.
