CENTCOM denies Iranian claims of closing the Strait of Hormuz, confirms continued navigation

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has denied claims made by an Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps general, which were circulated in media reports, that the “Strait of Hormuz is closed” and that Iran “has full control over it,” affirming that these allegations are false.
In a statement posted on the X platform, CENTCOM said that maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz continues normally, noting that commercial goods and energy supplies, including approximately 20 million barrels of crude oil, are passing through the strait.
U.S. Central Command emphasized that the United States and its regional partners maintain clear control over the security of navigation in the strait, stressing that maritime transit continues uninterrupted.
