The Ministry of Interior announced that the General Directorate of Traffic, represented by the Security Control Department, succeeded in apprehending suspects in two separate incidents in the Al-Jahra region for riding bicycles in non-designated areas, thereby endangering their own safety and that of other road users.

In a press statement, the Ministry clarified that in the first incident, a patrol officer observed the first suspect recklessly riding a bicycle in a non-designated area. Upon being stopped, the suspect attempted to flee, collided with the patrol vehicle, and was subsequently apprehended.

Regarding the second incident, another patrol observed the second suspect recklessly riding a bicycle in a non-designated area, leading to his arrest.

The statement noted that traffic violations for riding bicycles in non-designated areas, reckless driving, and endangering public safety were issued against both suspects, while a violation for failing to comply with stop orders or fleeing was issued against the first suspect. The first suspect was referred to the Central Prison, while the second suspect was referred to the Juvenile Protection Department due to his minor status, and both bicycles were impounded.

The General Directorate of Traffic warned bicycle riders against endangering their own safety and that of other road users, emphasizing that such behaviors and failure to comply with the orders of security personnel will be met with strict enforcement of the law.
