Our ambassador to Algeria, Nawaf Boushbe, held talks with Algerian Finance Minister Mohamed Lamine L’Bou regarding ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the economic and trade sectors, thereby contributing to the development of shared relations.

In a statement, our embassy in Algeria noted that the Algerian Finance Minister received Ambassador Boushbe in the presence of several senior ministry officials and Counselor at the Embassy Khaled Al-Zier. The statement highlighted that both sides praised the distinguished historical relations that unite the two brotherly countries.

The statement added that the discussions addressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination within the framework of the Joint Financial Committee to achieve a qualitative leap in bilateral relations, alongside examining efforts by Air Algérie to launch a direct flight route between the two countries, which would contribute to enhancing trade and tourism cooperation.

For his part, Ambassador Boushbe emphasized in a statement to KUNA that both countries are moving toward the future with greater determination and sincere will to advance and strengthen bilateral cooperation and elevate it across various fields in line with the aspirations of the political leadership in both nations. Additionally, Ambassador Boushbe held talks with the President of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chakib Kewider, during which they reaffirmed the possibility of establishing a joint action plan to push trade and economic relations toward broader horizons.

Both sides agreed to organize a meeting involving relevant authorities in both countries via video conferencing technology to introduce investment opportunities and discuss potential cooperation and partnership, as well as to exchange trade information and open channels for data exchange regarding available opportunities, thereby helping to remove obstacles to imports and exports.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed, according to the statement, their commitment to completing discussions on a proposal to establish a joint business council as part of efforts to develop economic and trade cooperation between the State of Kuwait and Algeria.
