Ambush Bushibah Discusses Ways to Enhance Economic and Trade Cooperation with Algerian Finance Minister

Our ambassador to Algeria, Nawaf Bushibeh, held talks with Algerian Finance Minister Mohamed Lamine L’Bou regarding ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the economic and trade sectors, thereby contributing to the development of shared relations.

In a statement, our embassy in Algeria noted that the Algerian Finance Minister received Ambassador Bushibeh in the presence of several senior ministry officials and the embassy’s counselor, Khaled Al-Zeer. The statement highlighted that both sides praised the deep, distinguished historical relations linking the two brotherly countries.

The statement added that the discussions addressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination within the framework of the Joint Financial Committee to achieve a qualitative leap in bilateral relations, alongside examining efforts by Air Algérie to launch a direct flight route between the two countries, which would contribute to enhancing trade and tourism cooperation.

For his part, Ambassador Bushibeh affirmed in a statement to KUNA that both countries are moving toward the future with greater resolve and sincere will to drive and enhance bilateral cooperation and elevate it across various fields, in line with the aspirations of the political leadership in both nations.

Ambassador Bushibeh also held talks with the head of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Chakib Kouider, during which both sides emphasized the possibility of establishing a joint action plan to advance trade and economic relations toward broader horizons.

The two sides agreed to organize a meeting involving relevant authorities in both countries via video conferencing to introduce investment opportunities and discuss potential cooperation and partnership, in addition to exchanging trade information and opening channels for data exchange regarding available opportunities, thereby helping to overcome obstacles to imports and exports.

At the conclusion of the talks, and according to the statement, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to completing discussions on a proposal to establish a joint business council as part of efforts to develop economic and trade cooperation between the State of Kuwait and Algeria.
