The German ambassador praised the high-level visits and communications exchanged between the two countries, noting that the visit of the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister to Germany and the talks he held with German Foreign Minister Dr. Johann Wadephul in September last year reflected the depth of bilateral relations and the growing momentum they are witnessing, as well as the shared will to continue elevating the level of cooperation between the two countries.
He clarified that the Kuwaiti-German partnership extends beyond the political framework to encompass broad economic, investment, and developmental fields, including energy, technology, artificial intelligence, security, education, and academic cooperation, alongside many other areas of mutual interest. Rotenberg pointed out that the international community is currently facing a complex set of challenges, including rising oil prices, alongside ongoing conflicts and crises in various parts of the world. He emphasized that these developments make enhancing cooperation and coordination among countries more urgent. He stressed that international dialogue and cooperation remain among the most important tools for addressing these challenges and building a safer, more stable, and prosperous future, noting that the rapid developments witnessed globally underscore the need for countries to rely on one another more than ever before.
He affirmed that Germany and Kuwait share the desire to contribute to enhancing security, stability, and prosperity, highlighting the importance of collective action in facing the economic, security, and political challenges confronting the international community. He stated that the world is going through a period marked by a high degree of uncertainty, making cooperation between countries more critical. He emphasized that achieving peace, security, stability, and prosperity requires concerted and integrated efforts and working in a spirit of partnership.
The German ambassador touched upon the historical significance of German Unity Day, recalling the fall of the Berlin Wall and the peaceful unification of Germany as a historic milestone that demonstrated peoples’ capacity to achieve major transformations through peaceful means and dialogue. He noted that this year’s commemoration comes at a time when several crises and conflicts continue to cast shadows over various regions of the world, emphasizing that the German experience carries important messages regarding the value of peace, dialogue, and cooperation, and the necessity of building bridges of communication between nations and peoples. He added that the anniversary of German unity embodies the importance of overcoming divisions and working toward building a shared future, pointing out that his country’s historical experience confirms that peaceful change and cooperation can pave the way toward a safer, more stable, and more prosperous future.
