Boubyan Bank Showcases Leading Banking Experience at IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings

Kuwait Finance House (KFH) Group announced its participation in the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, scheduled to take place from October 12 to 18 in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. The event will bring together a select group of finance ministers, central bank governors, banking leaders, and financial decision-makers from around the world.

The KFH delegation will be led by the Group’s Chairman, Hamad Abdulmohsin Al-Marzouq, and will include Group CEO Khaled Yousef Al-Shamlan, Group Executive Vice President for Treasury and Financial Institutions David O’Loughlin, KFH Kuwait Treasury Head Ahmed Al-Samit, CEO of Baitak Capital Abdullah Al-Haddad, and Group Head of Public Relations and Media Yousef Al-Ruwais.

This participation aims to strengthen KFH’s international presence and reaffirm its leading position in the regional and global landscape as a pioneering Islamic banking group with operations spanning 10 countries worldwide, notably Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Germany. Supported by an extensive network of over 600 branches, KFH operates under a clear strategic vision to solidify its place among the world’s top 100 banks in the coming years.

The participation also reflects KFH’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its presence at international economic forums, showcasing its pioneering banking experience, and highlighting the pivotal role of Islamic finance in achieving financial stability and supporting sustainable development pathways.

These annual meetings of the World Bank Group and the IMF provide an opportunity to explore cooperation and partnerships with global financial institutions, emphasizing the role of the Islamic banking industry and KFH’s extensive expertise in the Islamic finance sector. Its global presence has been reinforced by its ability to continue growing and innovating, keeping pace with transformations in the financial sector, and serving as a model capable of achieving sustainable development, while also showcasing the strength of the Kuwaiti economy and the robustness of its financial and banking system.

The KFH Group delegation is expected to participate in meetings attended by finance ministers, central bank governors, and heads of major financial institutions from around the world, discussing ways to enhance growth prospects. Key issues to be highlighted include economic development, strengthening the financial and banking sectors, digital transformation, and innovation in financial services, among other topics shaping the future of global growth prospects.

Additionally, KFH will participate in the Gulf-Asia Economic Forum in a session titled “Banking, Investment, and Digital Infrastructure,” featuring a select group of officials and leaders from investment and technology institutions from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Asia.

The Group’s delegation will also attend the Kuwaiti Banks Reception, organized by the Kuwait Banks Association, one of the most prominent economic events that brings together government officials, decision-makers, and heads of financial and investment institutions from various countries worldwide, with the aim of exchanging views and discussing economic and financial challenges and developments.
