Burkan Bank, in collaboration with CODED Academy, celebrated the conclusion of the Academy X program for the second consecutive year, as part of its strategic sponsorship of the initiative. This sponsorship extends the bank’s commitment to supporting youth, empowering women, and investing in the development of future skills. The program reflects Burkan Bank’s approach to corporate social responsibility and sustainability, and its dedication to supporting educational initiatives that contribute to the development of national competencies, in alignment with the goals and vision of Kuwait 2035.
The 2026 edition of the Academy X program offered two specialized tracks in tech entrepreneurship and AI-driven marketing, alongside a practical educational experience that enabled participants to develop their skills in technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, and to transform ideas into practical projects and solutions.
On this occasion, Hessa Al-Najjada, Senior Director of Media Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility at Burkan Bank, stated: “Our strategic sponsorship of the Academy X program for the second consecutive year stems from Burkan Bank’s belief in the importance of corporate social responsibility and our role in investing in young talents and supporting women’s empowerment. Over the two years of sponsorship, more than 1,000 female students graduated from the program, acquiring skills in entrepreneurship and programming, alongside banking culture, in line with the ‘Let’s Be Aware’ campaign launched by the Central Bank of Kuwait in collaboration with the Banks Association and local banks. Through these initiatives, we strive to achieve a sustainable impact consistent with Burkan Bank’s strategy and the goals and vision of Kuwait 2035. We believe that these young talents represent the future generation, and that their ambition, ideas, and capabilities can contribute to building a prosperous future for Kuwait.”
For her part, Fatima Ahmed, Senior Director of Corporate Culture and Employee Engagement at Burkan Bank, said: “The students’ commitment and determination to complete the program are among the most significant factors contributing to the success of this experience, as it provided them with the opportunity to develop their skills and apply what they learned in a practical experience that helps prepare them for the job market and enhances their readiness for future opportunities. We also extend our gratitude to all the students for their efforts and commitment, and to their parents for supporting and encouraging their daughters, which played a vital role in enabling them to benefit from this educational experience.”
For his part, Hashim Bahbahani, Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of CODED Academy, said: “Our partnership with Burkan Bank is at the top of our priorities, and we celebrate this partnership for the second consecutive year within the Academy X program. What unites us with Burkan Bank is a firm belief that Kuwait’s technological future is built by the efforts of both its young men and women. The program places technology and artificial intelligence in the hands of Kuwaiti girls as tools for innovation and entrepreneurship. Hence, our shared commitment lies in translating this belief into real tech projects and national talents ready for the job market. We at Burkan Bank appreciate that it is a strategic partner that views investing in Kuwaiti girls as investing in Kuwait itself. We thank them for their continuous support and look forward to the second year having a broader impact than the first, and to this partnership continuing for years to come.”
The Academy X program also introduced the students to the “Let’s Be Aware” campaign, highlighting its objectives and main pillars, including encouraging saving and financial planning from an early age, raising awareness about financial fraud and ways to avoid it, and emphasizing the importance of safely using banking services and products. This contributes to enhancing financial and banking culture among the younger generation.
At the conclusion of the program, Burkan Bank honored the winning team for the best project in “Artificial Intelligence and Emerging Technologies” with a cash prize, in recognition of the project presented by the team and its innovative use of the skills and knowledge acquired during the program, reflecting the spirit of innovation and teamwork, and the participants’ ability to transform their ideas into projects with a positive impact. This recognition underscores Burkan Bank’s commitment to encouraging young talents, supporting innovation, and motivating participants to develop their ideas and turn them into practical solutions and projects.
Burkan Bank will continue to support initiatives and programs aimed at developing youth capabilities, empowering them, and refining their skills, in alignment with the goals and vision of Kuwait 2035, and to enhance its role in supporting the building of a generation capable of contributing to Kuwait’s future.
