Jazeera Airways announced the resumption of its direct flights between Kuwait and the Armenian capital, Yerevan, starting December 3, 2026, thereby restoring direct air connectivity with one of the airline’s preferred destinations within its network. The carrier will initially operate two flights per week, increasing to three weekly flights from December 22, 2026, providing travelers with more options and easier direct access to Armenia during the peak winter travel season.
Dr. Arsen A. Arakelian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the State of Kuwait, said: “Armenia welcomes Jazeera Airways’ decision to resume direct flights connecting the two friendly countries, Kuwait and Armenia. We are confident that these flights will significantly contribute to enhancing mutual cooperation in the interests of both countries, as well as boosting tourism flows between the two destinations.”
Yerevan was among the destinations that attracted strong demand within Jazeera Airways’ network during its previous operations, witnessing robust passenger interest. The resumption of flights reflects this continued demand, as well as Jazeera Airways’ commitment to expanding its direct flight network from Kuwait to ideal destinations for tourism, family and friends visits, and business travel.
Parathan Pasupathy, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, said: “We are delighted to welcome Yerevan back to Jazeera Airways’ destination network. Armenia has proven to be a preferred destination for our customers, and the strong demand we previously saw on this route gives us great confidence in its return. By resuming direct flights between Kuwait and Yerevan, we are restoring an important link connecting the two destinations directly, supporting tourism and trade, and strengthening ties between our two countries. We look forward to working closely with our partners in Kuwait and Armenia, including the travel sector, government authorities, airports, and tourism stakeholders, to boost demand and ensure the long-term success and sustainability of this route.”
Yerevan combines historical landmarks with vibrant modern life, as well as easy access to mountainous areas and the winter attractions and activities for which Armenia is known. With a flight time of approximately two hours from Kuwait, Yerevan is a distinctive choice for travelers seeking a nearby destination and a different winter experience.
Pasupathy added: “In the next phase, the resumption of connecting passenger services—i.e., transit through Kuwait—will further boost demand for travel to Yerevan and other destinations within our network. Convenient connecting options through Kuwait will allow passengers to continue their journeys, enabling us to increase passenger traffic through Kuwait and support the development of new and existing routes, thereby positively contributing to Kuwait’s ambition to strengthen its position as a regional aviation hub.”
The return of flights supports tourism, travel, and trade exchanges between Kuwait and Armenia, and enhances communication between the peoples of the two countries. It also provides travelers from Kuwait and the region with convenient access to Armenia’s rich history, culture, distinctive cuisine, and growing year-round tourism offerings.
