Traffic Department to delivery companies: Implementation of measures against drivers violating traffic rules begins

Under the directives of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the Head of the Traffic and Operations Sector, Brigadier General Haqqi Ahmed Al-Azmi, held a meeting on Sunday with representatives of delivery companies, attended by the Director General of the General Directorate of Traffic, Brigadier General Rashid Al-Hajjar, and several senior officials from the General Directorate of Traffic, to reinforce compliance with traffic regulations and raise awareness among drivers of delivery vehicles and motorcycles.
A press statement from the Ministry of Interior clarified that the meeting emphasized the responsibility of companies to educate their drivers about traffic violations and the necessity of adhering to traffic rules, in order to safeguard their safety and that of other road users.
The Ministry noted that it has identified traffic violations committed by some delivery drivers, and that legal measures will be taken against offenders, including the impoundment of their motorcycles or vehicles for a period of two months.
The Ministry urged delivery companies to monitor their drivers’ compliance with traffic instructions, reaffirming that field monitoring will continue and that appropriate actions will be taken against violators, thereby enhancing road safety and protecting lives and property.
