The official spokesperson for the coalition forces, the “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen,” Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that the coalition’s joint forces command continues to provide full operational support to the Yemeni Armed Forces and remains steadfast in its support for the legitimate Yemeni government and the fraternal Yemeni people, in order to end the coup and restore the state and its national institutions to build Yemen’s future.
In a statement posted on X, Brigadier General Al-Maliki clarified that the ongoing terrorist attacks and repeated practices by the Houthi terrorist militia against the fraternal Yemeni people—including internal blockades, forced displacement of citizens from their cities and villages, starvation, looting and dividing their resources for what they call the “war effort,” abuse of tribal elders and members, tearing apart the social fabric of Yemeni society across all its segments, terrorizing women, and recruiting children for their criminal project—constitute blatant violations that have brought calamities and suffering to Yemenis for many years.
He added that the Houthi terrorist militia’s attacks on the Kingdom, its attempt to target the Holy City of Mecca and the City of the Noble Prophet (Medina), and its deliberate and systematic targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure in several Saudi cities (Riyadh, Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jizan, Najran, Taif, and Yanbu), as well as attempts to target Saudi vessels in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, necessitate the continuation of necessary and required measures to deter the hostile actions of the Houthi terrorist militia, with the aim of protecting the Kingdom’s security and sovereignty, as well as regional and international security.
Brigadier General Al-Maliki affirmed the Kingdom’s inherent right to defend its sovereignty and protect its security, and to take all operational measures to deter this militia and halt its grave violations, in light of the Kingdom’s national responsibility toward the Two Holy Mosques, its citizens, its national endowments, and those residing on its territory. He also reiterated the Kingdom’s continued support for Yemen and its fraternal people until the state and its institutions are restored, the Houthi terrorist militia is eliminated, and its threat to freedom of maritime navigation in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait is ended. He stressed that this threat undermines regional and international security, jeopardizes freedom of navigation and international trade, and strikes at the lifeline of the global economy, as well as regional and international security and the national interests of all countries.
