Disbursement of Frozen Allowances to Those Whose Citizenship Was Revoked

The Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs and Acting Minister of Commerce and Industry, Abdulaziz Al-Marzouq, issued a decree whose first article stipulates the resumption of payments of suspended allowances to eligible beneficiaries, with retroactive effect from the date of suspension, for insured persons or pensioners whose Kuwaiti citizenship had been revoked and who have since passed away, provided that the deceased’s name appears in the lists prepared by the Supreme Committee for Determining Kuwaiti Citizenship.

The second article stipulates that the provisions of the referenced Social Insurance Law shall apply to beneficiaries of this decree, except for Articles 73 and 75 thereof. The marriage grant stipulated in Article 71 of the same law shall not be paid to daughters, sisters, or nieces who are entitled to the allowances when payments are suspended due to marriage. Furthermore, the annual increase provided for in Law No. (25) of 2001 shall not apply to the allowances reinstated under this decree.
