Bahbahani stated in a comment during the press conference launching the fourth season of the Kuwait National Robotics Championship (KNRC) for the 2026-2027 academic year that robotics competitions provide a practical environment that integrates theoretical knowledge with design, engineering, programming, and problem-solving, thereby enhancing critical thinking, teamwork, and innovation skills.

He clarified that supporting such initiatives is an investment in youth potential and strengthens their readiness to cope with rapid developments in technology, artificial intelligence, and engineering, emphasizing Kuwait University’s and the College of Science’s commitment to providing an environment that fosters innovation and applied learning.

He pointed out that the previous edition saw the participation of approximately 150 teams and more than 600 students from various age groups.

He explained that the championship includes a series of practical competitions linked to global events, most notably the VEX Robotics competition, which qualifies participating teams for the World Championship in the United States, alongside the Aerial Drone Competition, which qualifies participants for global contests, and the Open Innovation Competition. He added that registration remains open from today until the 30th of this month.

For her part, Noura Al-Mutairi, a technical coordinator in chemistry and representative of the Ministry of Education, stated in a press comment that launching the championship through a partnership between the public and private sectors embodies the importance of strategic cooperation in supporting students, nurturing their potential and creativity, and equipping them with essential future skills, thereby contributing to the development of a generation capable of innovation and competing on various platforms.
