The committee is holding its second meeting in Riyadh, following its first meeting in Ankara, where the agreement countries reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing their defensive capabilities and strengthening their armed forces through “robust cooperation in the field of defense industries and the development of joint production and technologies.”

Foreign ministers of the Mecca Agreement countries affirmed in their meeting held in Ankara their strongest condemnation of “the heinous attacks that targeted the holy city of Mecca and civilian and economic facilities in Saudi Arabia,” praising the vigilance of the Saudi armed forces and their ability to defend the Kingdom’s security, and reaffirming the Kingdom’s right to take measures it deems appropriate to defend its security in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, according to the Saudi Foreign Ministry.
