Al-Saud: Buraq Ready for 'Zen' First Division League Kickoff

Al-Burqan’s first football team continued its training sessions today in preparation for the upcoming Thursday kickoff of the Zain League First Division. The Burqani squad returned to Kuwait last Thursday from Alexandria, Egypt, where they held a training camp and played three friendly matches, losing to Saudi club Al-Wajh (1-3), Egyptian side Inter City (1-3), and Egyptian club Al-Ittihad Alexandria (0-3).

Mohammed Al-Saud, a member of Al-Burqan’s board and head of the football department, said the camp in Egypt was successful by all measures. The technical staff, led by Russian coach Alexander Vladimirovich, had ample opportunity to work and assess the team’s strengths and weaknesses.

In an exclusive interview with Al-Anbaa, Al-Saud stated that Al-Burqan is fully prepared to compete in the First Division, with the team aiming to secure two promotion spots to the Premier League. He noted that the club currently has five foreign professionals: Frenchman Sullivan Zakari, Nigerian Emmanuel Ivaristus, Congolese Mukoba Diulfi, Tunisian Chedly Kassem, and Frenchman Obissa Sidney, all of whom are trusted by the technical staff to provide the necessary boost to the squad.
