The Director of the Meteorology Department, Essam Al-Ali, stated that the country is currently experiencing humid weather with a chance of scattered light rain, occasionally thunderstorms, and the possibility of fog forming in the evening. He predicted that these conditions would persist until Sunday morning.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Ali explained that weather maps and numerical models indicate the country is being affected by an extension of a humid low-pressure system, coinciding with a low-pressure system in the upper atmospheric layers. This is leading to an increase in low and mid-level clouds, accompanied by scattered light rain that may occasionally be thunderous.
He added that winds will be southeasterly to variable, light to moderate in speed, with a chance of fog forming in the evening and early morning, reducing horizontal visibility to below 1,000 meters in some areas until tomorrow morning.
Al-Ali forecast that horizontal visibility will gradually improve during the early morning hours, urging citizens and residents to follow the weather bulletin through the Department’s official website, its mobile application, and its social media accounts to stay updated on the latest weather developments.
