A "clunking" sound is confusing iPhone 18 Pro users... and the reason remains unclear

Complaints from iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max users have begun to increase regarding a strange audio problem involving a sudden "crackling" sound from the speakers, while the real cause of the problem is still not determined, whether it is a software malfunction or related to the hardware components.
According to specialized technical reports, users described the sounds as a light "crackling" that appears in various situations, including making calls, receiving notifications, the keyboard appearing, and browsing websites. Others noted that it can appear when turning airplane mode on and off or quickly changing screen brightness. MacRumors reports confirm that there are complaints in both the Pro and Pro Max models.
The mystery deepened after complaints continued following the installation of the 27.0.1 update, which Apple released on September 28. The official release notes do not include any reference to addressing the headphone problem, as the update focused on fixing other issues, including a bug that could cause iPhone 18 Pro devices to restart when Face ID verification fails.
Some users reported that the problem appeared even on replacement devices they received after returning their phones, while others confirmed that they did not encounter it, making the extent of its spread unclear.
So far, Apple has not announced an official reason for the problem or confirmed a defect in the phone's components, leaving the hypothesis of a software malfunction open pending further updates or clarifications from the company.
