Damascus accuses Israeli forces of arresting Syrians in Quneitra and Daraa countryside

Syrian state media announced that Israeli forces arrested several Syrians during incursions into the village of Ma’aribah in the Yarmouk Basin area of western Daraa countryside, and in the Quneitra countryside, the day before yesterday. The official Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported yesterday, citing local sources, that 12 Israeli occupation vehicles infiltrated the village overnight via the northern route known as the “Valley Road,” coming from the plain area and heading toward several residential neighborhoods. The sources indicated that the force raided several homes, searched them, and arrested two residents of the village; one was released after a period, while the fate of the other remains unknown. For her part, the Syrian Al-Akhbariya news channel reported that occupation forces abducted a young man from in front of his home in the town of Al-Hamidiyah in northern Quneitra countryside, coinciding with a campaign of raids and searches of several homes in the town. The channel also noted that the Israeli occupation shelled the outskirts of the Al-Manatirah Dam in central Quneitra countryside with two artillery shells. Syrian authorities accuse the Israeli occupation of continuing to violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through its repeated incursions into southern Syria, raiding civilians’ homes, arresting them, bulldozing land, and carrying out attacks with shells and other means.
