Lebanon Condemns Attack on Electricity Distribution Station in Medina: Threat to Regional Stability

Lebanon condemned on Friday the targeting of an electricity distribution station in Medina, Saudi Arabia, which resulted in the failure of a transformer supplying power to the Prophet’s Mosque. In a statement, Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s drone attack on the electricity distribution station in Medina. It described the attack on vital civilian infrastructure as a serious escalation and a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, as well as an infringement on the sovereignty and security of Saudi Arabia and a threat to regional stability. Lebanon firmly rejected any targeting of Saudi territory and facilities, expressing its full solidarity with the Kingdom and its steadfast support in confronting all threats to its security and sovereignty.
