Qatar strongly condemns Houthi targeting of power distribution station serving the Prophet's Mosque

The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s targeting of an electricity distribution station in the city of Medina in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which serves the Noble Prophet’s Mosque and civilian infrastructure. It described the attack as a serious violation of the sanctity of Islamic holy sites, a clear provocation of Muslim sentiments, a reckless disregard for civilian lives, a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty, and a flagrant breach of international law.

In a statement, the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized Qatar’s unequivocal rejection of attacks on holy sites, civilian infrastructure, and civilians, and called for an immediate halt to these irresponsible acts.

The Ministry also reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, standing by its side in all lawful measures it takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, and interests. It stressed that Saudi security is an integral part of Qatar’s security and of the collective security framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
