The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works, Kifaya Al-Najdi, inaugurated the first phase of the development project for Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Street (formerly known as Al-Abdali Street), in the presence of Al-Jahra Governor Hamad Al-Habashi.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Public Works said that the road is one of the vital arteries linking Al-Jahra Governorate with the northern regions, serving travel to the Al-Abdali area, farms, and border crossings, as well as playing a key role in land travel and freight transport, thereby giving its development significant service and economic importance.
It noted that the development works contribute to enhancing the road’s efficiency, improving traffic flow, and strengthening safety for its users, while also facilitating access to the areas it serves, keeping pace with urban expansion needs, and accommodating the growing volume of vehicles.
The ministry pointed out that the inauguration of the first phase of the project is the result of the efforts of the Ministry of Public Works and relevant authorities, under the continuous follow-up of the Al-Jahra Governorate Council, within the framework of joint coordination to advance road and infrastructure projects and improve the level of services provided to residents and road users.
