Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works, Kifaya Al-Najdi, inaugurated the first phase of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Road (formerly Al-Abdali) development project, in the presence of Al-Jahra Governor Hamad Al-Habashi.
In a press statement on Thursday, the Ministry of Public Works said the road is one of the vital arteries linking Al-Jahra Governorate with the northern regions, serving travel to the Al-Abdali area, farms, and border crossings. It also highlighted the road’s importance for land travel and freight transport, noting that its development carries significant service and economic value.
The ministry added that the development works aim to enhance the road’s efficiency, improve traffic flow, and strengthen safety for users, while facilitating access to the areas it serves, keeping pace with urban expansion needs, and accommodating the growing volume of vehicles.
It noted that the inauguration of the first phase of the project is the result of efforts by the Ministry of Public Works and relevant authorities, under the follow-up of the Al-Jahra Governorate Council, within the framework of joint coordination to advance road and infrastructure projects and improve the level of services provided to residents and road users.
