Casualties in Attack on Bus in Central Syria

At least seven people were killed and four others injured after a bus was shot at on the Masyaf Bridge in Homs province, central Syria, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), citing a source from the Homs Directorate of Health. The head of Internal Security in Homs said that unidentified assailants targeted a civilian bus carrying employees of a company, resulting in casualties and injuries. He added that authorities view the attack as “an attempt to undermine the security of Homs city and destabilize stability,” stressing that “this crime will not go unpunished” and that Internal Security forces will continue to pursue those responsible. For their part, Agence France-Presse quoted a security source, who requested anonymity, as saying the bus was carrying engineers and workers from a private electricity company.
