The Kuwait University Council, during its meeting held Wednesday morning under the chairmanship of University President Dr. Dina Al-Milhim, affirmed the continuation of developing the academic system and enhancing institutional performance quality, emphasizing the importance of integrating efforts across its various sectors to support the university’s progress and achieve its objectives in all fields.
Dr. Al-Milhim commended the efforts and preparations of the colleges across all university campuses, highlighting their commitment to providing an appropriate academic environment and support services to welcome students and ensure an orderly start to the academic process. She expressed her hope that the year would be full of contributions and achievements.
She appreciated the efforts of all colleges, sectors, departments, and working teams that contributed to these preparations, stressing the importance of continuing to work with the same spirit throughout the academic year to realize the university’s aspirations and enhance performance quality across its various sectors.
She emphasized the importance of activating the role of committees in academic departments and colleges, ensuring their formation and operations in accordance with applicable regulations and bylaws, thereby enhancing procedural integrity and organizing academic work.
She stressed the necessity of adhering to approved mechanisms for textbook approval through specialized committees, limiting the purchase of approved textbooks to the university student bookstore, to ensure clear and uniform implementation of organized procedures in this regard.
Dr. Al-Milhim noted the formation of selection committees for the deanship of several university colleges in accordance with the regulations, systems, and laws governing this matter, with selection committees for the remaining colleges to be formed subsequently according to established frameworks and controls.
For her part, Dr. Noura Al-Suwaihi, Acting Secretary-General of Kuwait University and official university spokesperson, stated in a statement on the sidelines of the meeting that the Council approved the final accounts of Kuwait University for the academic year 2025/2026. It also approved the promotion of 23 faculty members from various applied, humanities, and social science colleges to the ranks of Professor and Associate Professor.
Al-Suwaihi highlighted the importance of the decisions approved by the Council in supporting the university’s work progress and continuing to develop academic and administrative performance, thereby contributing to achieving Kuwait University’s objectives and elevating its institutional system.
