Cabinet: Houthi Militia Launching Ballistic Missiles Toward Taif and Yanbu Constitutes a Blatant Violation of Saudi Sovereignty

The Cabinet was briefed during its meeting, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, on the contents of a letter addressed to His Highness Prince Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad by His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, inviting His Highness to participate in the second GCC-EU Summit in Riyadh on Saturday, October 24, 2026.

The Cabinet was also briefed on the outcomes of the participation of His Highness the Crown Prince, representing His Highness the Amir, in the joint meeting hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump, attended by leaders and heads of delegations from several Arab and Islamic countries participating in the high-level week of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The Cabinet commended the speech delivered by Kuwait, represented by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, in which he highlighted the unjust Iranian aggression, involving ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones, against Kuwait, GCC countries, and Jordan since February last year, despite none of them being parties to the ongoing regional conflict.

The Cabinet condemned the Houthi militia’s launch of ballistic missiles toward the Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu last Thursday. It firmly rejected the recurrence of such hostile and despicable attacks, which constitute a blatant violation of Saudi sovereignty and a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law. It reaffirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia, its steadfast support alongside the Kingdom, and its backing of all measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its sovereignty and security.
