Kuwait and Turkey Discuss Enhancing Security and Criminal Cooperation and Knowledge Exchange

As part of his visit to the friendly Republic of Turkey, Deputy Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Abdulwahab Al-Wahib and his accompanying delegation held separate meetings with Turkish Deputy Minister of Justice Sadat Ay Yıldız and Turkish Deputy Minister of Interior Kubra Guran Yigitbasi, in the presence of Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Republic of Turkey, Marzouq Al-Marzouq, to strengthen cooperation and joint security coordination between the two friendly countries.

Two statements from the Ministry of Interior noted that Lieutenant General Al-Wahib conveyed greetings and appreciation from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif, to the Turkish Deputy Minister of Justice at the outset of the first meeting, emphasizing Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousif’s commitment to enhancing cooperation frameworks and developing joint work areas between the two sides. Lieutenant General Al-Wahib also conveyed greetings and appreciation from the First Deputy Prime Minister to the Turkish Deputy Minister of Interior, reiterating the First Deputy Prime Minister’s dedication to developing joint work areas and exchanging expertise between the security agencies of both countries, reflecting the deep and distinguished relations between the State of Kuwait and the friendly Republic of Turkey.

During the meeting between Lieutenant General Al-Wahib and the Turkish Deputy Minister of Justice, several topics of mutual interest were discussed, along with ways to develop cooperation and coordination in security and criminal matters, as well as exchanging experiences, best practices, and lessons learned to enhance operational mechanisms and elevate institutional performance standards.

The meeting between the Deputy Minister of Interior and the Turkish Deputy Minister of Interior addressed several security issues of mutual interest, foremost among them combating organized crime, drug trafficking, and smuggling, as well as strengthening information exchange and coordination mechanisms among relevant authorities, particularly in confronting transnational crimes. The discussions also covered leveraging modern technologies and security best practices to improve performance efficiency and security readiness.

Additionally, the Deputy Minister of Interior and his delegation visited the Operations Room, where they reviewed operational procedures, modern systems, and technologies used in managing and monitoring security operations. They also received briefings on coordination, response mechanisms, and procedures for handling reports and incidents.
