As part of the second day of the seventeenth meeting of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers, held in the capital city of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait participated in a high-level workshop titled “Macroeconomic Resilience Amid Geopolitical Disruptions,” organized by the Arab Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group. The Kuwaiti delegation to the workshop was led by Assistant Minister of Finance Asil Al-Munaifi, with the attendance of several finance ministers and central bank governors.
The workshop discussed several key topics, most notably the repercussions of geopolitical disruptions and economic uncertainty on Arab economies, ways to strengthen macroeconomic resilience, macroeconomic policy formulation, and enhancing coordination between monetary and fiscal policies amid growing global uncertainty.
It is worth noting that this high-level workshop took place on the sidelines of Kuwait’s participation in the seventeenth meeting of the Council of Arab Finance Ministers, coinciding with the celebration of the Arab Monetary Fund’s Golden Jubilee marking fifty years since its establishment, in recognition of its role in supporting financial and monetary stability, enhancing Arab economic cooperation, and fostering sustainable growth among Arab countries.
