In line with directives from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, to strengthen security cooperation and exchange expertise with the friendly Republic of Turkey, Deputy Minister of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wahayb, accompanied by a delegation, visited the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Centers under the Turkish Ministry of Justice. During the visit, he reviewed the latest systems and modern technologies employed to enhance operational workflows, improve operational and security efficiency, and was received by Director General Celbi Yilmaz and several officials.
The visit included the Electronic Monitoring Center, training centers, and the Sincan Complex. The delegation observed the healthcare system and medical services, the trial proceedings mechanism and courtrooms, as well as vocational and professional workshops.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, the Deputy Minister also reviewed rehabilitation and training programs designed for inmates, which encompass professional and behavioral aspects aimed at developing their skills and strengthening their capacities. These initiatives contribute to preparing inmates for positive reintegration into society after serving their sentences, while reinforcing a reform and rehabilitation approach alongside security considerations.
